Year 1 Achievements | Cropt: Mapping Resilience in Challenging Times

The first year of the NOSTRADAMUS project put resilience to the test, with Serbia experiencing one of its toughest agricultural seasons in recent history. With nearly 50 consecutive days of drought in some regions, the conditions highlighted the urgency of innovation and data-driven monitoring.

Against this backdrop, CROPT successfully monitored the agricultural season in Serbia, generating:

  • Detailed crop and yield maps at the national level

  • Climate maps to illustrate extreme drought conditions

  • A foundation for upcoming crop suitability maps, which will guide future crop choices across regions.

Why it matters
In an era of increasing climate variability, it is essential to track how different crops respond to extreme weather. CROPT’s work equips farmers and stakeholders with the insights they need to adapt decisions and build long-term agricultural resilience.

As the project moves forward, these results will contribute to the broader NOSTRADAMUS vision: creating data-driven, sustainable, and future-ready farming solutions for Europe.
