NOSTRADAMUS Hosts First Open Call #1 Info Webinar – Recording and Slides Now Available!

On 30 October 2026, the NOSTRADAMUS project successfully organised its first Open Call #1 Info Webinar, providing prospective applicants with essential information about the funding opportunity, eligibility requirements, application process and evaluation procedure.

Organised by F6S, the project’s Open Call Manager, in collaboration with the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence (ECoE), the project coordinator, the webinar aimed to support interested SMEs, startups and other eligible organisations in preparing competitive proposals for NOSTRADAMUS Open Call #1.

Introducing NOSTRADAMUS and Its Funding Opportunities

The webinar opened with a welcome and introduction by F6S, followed by an overview of the NOSTRADAMUS project presented by ECoE.

Funded under the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme, NOSTRADAMUS aims to advance the digital transformation of agriculture by integrating Earth Observation (EO) data, Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, Data Cubes and cloud-edge architectures. Through these technologies, the project seeks to support more informed agricultural decision-making, improve resource efficiency and strengthen European food security.

Open Call #1 focuses on Advanced Digital Applications for Farm Decision-Making and Agribusiness, providing financial support to third parties developing innovative solutions aligned with the project’s objectives.

Funding, Eligibility and Application Requirements

During the webinar, F6S presented the main funding and eligibility conditions, highlighting that five selected projects will receive €50,000 each in financial support.

The session addressed several important aspects of the Open Call, including:

  • Eligible applicants, such as SMEs, startups and small mid-cap companies, including consortia of up to two entities.

  • Eligible countries and financial support conditions.

  • Rules concerning double funding and conflicts of interest.

  • The application deadline of 2 December 2026 at 17:00 CET.

Participants were also guided through the application process on the F6S platform, including a step-by-step walkthrough of the application form and an explanation of the required supporting documents.

Particular attention was given to the Technical Proposal Template (Annex 2), Declarations of Honour and SME Declaration.

Understanding the Evaluation and Contracting Process

Another key part of the webinar focused on the evaluation and contracting journey.

F6S explained the three-stage evaluation procedure, consisting of:

  1. Admissibility and eligibility checks.

  2. Independent external expert evaluation.

  3. Interviews with applicants.

The session also introduced the 12-month implementation programme, structured into different sprints, and explained the milestone-based payment schedule of 10%, 25%, 40% and 25%.

This overview helped prospective applicants better understand the expectations, implementation requirements and support framework for selected projects.

Interactive Q&A Session

The webinar concluded with an interactive Q&A session, during which representatives from ECoE, F6S and the NOSTRADAMUS consortium addressed questions related to the Open Call’s administrative requirements, application procedure, evaluation process and implementation conditions.

The discussion provided an opportunity to clarify important aspects of the funding scheme and support prospective applicants in preparing their submissions.
