Open Call #1

Funding Digital Applications for Sustainable and Efficient Agriculture
The NOSTRADAMUS Open Call #1 is looking for innovative digital solutions that can help farmers make better, data-driven decisions and contribute to more sustainable, efficient and resilient agricultural production.
Through the Open Call #1, NOSTRADAMUS will select 5 Third-Party projects to develop, test and validate open-source digital applications for farm decision-making, with a particular focus on cereal-based agricultural systems and food security.
Selected projects can receive up to €50,000 in funding and will join the 12-month NOSTRADAMUS Programme, gaining access to the project’s infrastructure, data, technical expertise, mentoring and real-world use cases.

Who Can Apply?
Applications may be submitted by an individual legal entity or by a consortium of a maximum of two legal entities.
Eligible applicants include:
SMEs and start-ups
Small mid-caps
Research and Technology Organisations (RTOs) and academia
Sectoral and end-user representation organisations
There is, however, an important distinction for individual applications:
If applying as a single legal entity, the applicant must be a business entity – an SME, start-up or small mid-cap – responsible for providing and validating the proposed solution.
Research organisations, academia and sectoral/end-user organisations may therefore participate as part of an eligible consortium (led by a business entity), in accordance with the conditions set out in the Guidelines for Applicants.
Applicants must also meet the geographical and other eligibility requirements established in the official Open Call #1 documentation.
Each entity may only be considered for funding once, whether applying individually or as part of a consortium.
How Much Funding Is Available?
NOSTRADAMUS Open Call #1 will select five projects, with each selected application eligible to receive:
Up to €50,000 per project
The requested contribution must represent 100% of the project costs, including indirect costs, and applicants will be required to justify the planned costs and resources.
Funding will be provided as Financial Support to Third Parties (FSTP) in the form of lump sums.
Payments will be linked to the successful completion of the four NOSTRADAMUS Programme sprints:
| Sprint | Programme phase | Duration | Payment |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Training | Months 1-2 | 10% |
| 2 | Design | Months 3-4 | 25% |
| 3 | Development & Validation | Months 5-10 | 40% |
| 4 | Demonstration & Assessment | Months 11-12 | 25% |
